Canfield Education Association Mission Statement

We believe great public schools are built by valuing the people who make them possible.

The Canfield Education Association is dedicated to championing educators, advocating for students, and strengthening public education in our community. We stand together to ensure that every student has access to an excellent, equitable, and inspiring education—and that every educator has the respect, support, resources, and voice needed to make that education possible.

We are more than a union. We are educators united by a shared commitment to our students, our profession, and our community.

We will:

• Stand up for educators by protecting their professional voice, dignity, rights, and working conditions.
• Put students first by advocating for safe, supportive, and well-resourced schools where every student can thrive.
• Strengthen public education by defending its value as a cornerstone of a strong community and a healthy democracy.
• Build solidarity by supporting one another, celebrating our collective accomplishments, and ensuring that every member has a voice.
• Partner with our community because strong schools and strong communities depend upon one another.
• Lead with courage and integrity—speaking up when necessary, listening when challenged, and remaining committed to what is best for students and educators.

When educators have a voice, students have advocates. When educators are respected, schools are stronger. And when we stand together, our entire community moves forward.
